EducationQuality in education is of prime importance to the residents of Preston County, as evidenced by the construction of the ninth grade addition at Preston High School. The high school, in addition to the vocational and academic center, creates a total complex of over 300,000 square feet. It provides both academic and vocational training for 1,600 students from all of Preston County in grades 9-12. Currently, the school offers both evening and weekend classes for college credit through Fairmont State College. The school is situated on a 260-acre tract of land adjacent to the Kingwood city limits. A 5,600 capacity football stadium enhances the sports program, which includes sixteen other interscholastic sports. It serves as home for the Preston High Knights all-county teams. Visitors are welcome, and guided tours are available by prior arrangement with school personnel. Tours of any of the county schools may be arranged by calling the Preston County Board of Education at (304) 329-0580. Curricular Programs
