Each new permanent employee serves a one-year probationary period immediately following his or her appointment into the Federal Bureau of Prisons. This is an on-the-job test to assure that the right person has been hired for the job. During this time, your supervisor will work closely with you to provide training and to determine your suitability and competency. This is also the time for you to judge whether the job is compatible with your skills and aspirations. |
