PHS Animal Processing PlantThe PHS Animal Processing Plant is the only high school-operated plant in the state. This is a unique program and has attracted many visitors from throughout the region. This facility, along with other Vocational Agriculture programs provides PHS students the opportunity to experience the complete agricultural process from birth to table.
Electric ProgramPHS is the only high school in the state to be designated as a testing site by the State Fire Marshall for the Electrical Apprentice and Journeyman's test. This is a direct result of the success of the program at PHS. In recent years, 91 students have passed their apprectice test and 34 of those have passed their journeyman's test before leaving high school.
Health Occupation Students of America (HOSA)Preston High students hold three of the state offices for HOSA. This organization had 14 students win awards in state competition in 2005. They also placed well at nationals. Preston High's HOSA Advisor, Catherine Alexander, was named HOSA Advisor of the Year for 2005. |
