A gravel bike race based out of the Alpine Lake Resort in beautiful Terra Alta, WV! There are options for 20-mile, 40-mile, and 80-mile routes!

For those who haven’t experienced the DD, the course highlights some of Preston County’s beautiful backroads. Including lots of ups and downs as racers journey over mountains, down to the Cheat River, and back up.

This race is hosted by Preston County Parks & Recreation (PCPaRC) and all funds raised go towards developing cycling infrastructure in the county. Our first goal is to design and build the Poor Farm Trail System (machine-built, beginner-intermediate mtb trails) around Preston High School with the goal of establishing a WV Interscholastic Cycling League team in Preston.

The Dirty Double is back this year with a few exciting changes! Historically it's been a 2-day stage race with 36-mile routes on both days based out of Rowlesburg, WV. This year racers take note of the following:

Venue change - The race will be based out of Alpine Lake Resort in Terra Alta, WV
One day only - Saturday, May 13th
Course options - 20 miles, 40 miles, or for the first time, racers will have the chance to ride parts of both 36-mile routes for a total of 80 miles. Ride one loop or double it! Official routes to be posted shortly.
