Schools Are Great in Preston County
Students in Preston County have quality educational options beginning at pre-kindergarten through post-secondary institutions. The schools are a focal point of daily life in the county and place an emphasis on preparing students for success at the next level of education and life in general. Many quality programs exist through the Preston High School Career and Technical Education (CTE) classes. In addition, students have access to hundreds of scholarships.
Beginning in fall 2023, Preston County Schools will partner with Pierpont Community & Technical College on a program called One Walk - Two Degrees. This program will allow students to earn their associates degree while also earning their high school diploma.

West Virginia places high importance on postsecondary education as well. The West Virginia Invests Program is designed to help more residents earn the training and education needed to obtain the careers necessary to live a successful life in West Virginia. West Virginia Invests is a “last-dollar-in” program, covering remaining tuition and eligible fees at West Virginia community and technical colleges after federal/state awards.
