The WOW! Factory is Morgantown's premier art studio. We are an open studio, walk-ins are always welcome! We offer pottery painting, mosaics, glass fusing, and clay hand-building; canvas painting and board art are offered in class settings.

ArtSpring promotes and cultivates the arts in public life and presents a weekend festival of the arts in the highlands of Tucker County, WV.

ArtSpring was founded in 2011 when gallery owners, artists and musicians of Tucker County came together with a vision to connect and promote its rich and varied arts communities. From such was born the ArtSpring festival, a Memorial-Day-Weekend tour of Tucker County: an opportunity for visitors and residents alike to see the arts communities unite in a collective effort to show just how dynamic and extensive the presence of the arts are in our county.

The Purple Fiddle Cafe, Brews and Stage is a family-friendly music venue, deli-style restaurant and bar. It is located in the old DePollo General Store in historic Thomas, WV, atop the beautiful Allegheny mountains. Every week (and always on Fridays and Saturday nights, and weekend afternoons) the Purple Fiddle presents professional, touring acts from around the country and world. Bands come there from all over the United States and the world, from as far away as Siberia and Australia.

Arthurdale is a national historic district and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It was the nation’s first New Deal Homestead Subsistence Project to be championed in the 1930’s by Eleanor Roosevelt. Arthurdale Heritage, Inc. manages the New Deal Homestead Museum and includes a fully restored homestead.

Known as a strategic location in the Battle of Rowlesburg during the Civil War, visitors can view the Cheat River and the railroad bridge that was the focus of the battle from the heights of Cannon Hill. Tours are available from May through October via the Rowlesburg Area Historical Society.

The home of one of Preston County’s most influential citizens and one of its founding fathers, James Clark McGrew, is available for tours, parties and receptions. The McGrew Society’s mission includes preserving James C. McGrew House and its place in West Virginia’s history as a State Founder who led through obstacles of his day, including the Civil War and its aftermath. Deep historical and moral lessons come from their courage and persistence in the face of adversity and destruction.

The Szilagyi Center for the Visual and Performing Arts is owned and operated by the Rowlesburg Revitalization Committee, Inc. In addition to event space available for rent, the renovated building is home to several artistic and historical centers. The World War II Museum showcases authentic military uniforms, memorabilia, medals, war posters and photographs. The Preston County Sports Museum highlights the local sports history, including baseball, basketball and football. To add to the museum, many former athletes donated meaningful items. The B & O Depot and Museum houses old railroad memorabilia, including an old caboose. The Riverbend Art Studio provides classes for those interested in many different artistic disciplines.
