Help Tell Preston County’s Story
The Preston County Economic Development Authority (PCEDA) is inviting residents, workers, students, and visitors to participate in the Picture Preston County Photo Contest.
As part of our website redesign, we are seeking original photographs that showcase the people, places, businesses, infrastructure, and community spirit that make Preston County a great place to live, work, and visit.
Photographs may be featured on the new PCEDA website, social media channels, printed publications, promotional materials, presentations, and other marketing initiatives that help tell Preston County’s story. Photographers will be credited for their photos featured on the PCEDA website.
Contest Categories
Employers & Work
Showcase Preston County’s workforce, businesses, skilled trades, manufacturing, agriculture, entrepreneurship, and people at work.
Infrastructure & Progress
Capture the roads, bridges, industrial sites, utilities, transportation systems, public facilities, and infrastructure that support our communities and economy.
Healthcare & Education
Highlight healthcare professionals, medical facilities, students, educators, classrooms, training opportunities, and educational environments throughout Preston County.
Community Life
Celebrate the people and organizations that strengthen our communities. This category is intended to emphasize people and participation, including:
- Volunteers
- Community events
- Senior centers
- Church and religious organizations
- Civic groups
- Nonprofit organizations
- Families and neighbors working together
Photos featuring meaningful human interaction are especially encouraged.
Prizes
PCEDA will award a total of $700 in gift cards or certificates from local Preston County businesses.
Each Category Will Award:
- First Place – $100
- Second Place – $50
- Third Place – $25
Submission Requirements
- Photos must be taken within Preston County, West Virginia.
- Entries must be original work created by the submitting photographer.
- Participants may submit multiple entries and may enter more than one category.
- High-resolution digital images are preferred.
- Entrants are responsible for obtaining permission from any identifiable individuals appearing in submitted photographs.
- Permission from a parent or legal guardian is required when identifiable minors appear in a photograph.

Terms & Conditions
By entering the contest, participants certify that they are the creator and owner of the submitted photograph and have obtained all necessary permissions from identifiable individuals appearing in the image.
Photographers retain ownership of their photographs. However, submission grants the Preston County Economic Development Authority a perpetual, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to use submitted images for promotional, educational, marketing, website, social media, and related purposes.
Submission of a photograph constitutes acceptance of the complete Contest Terms and Conditions.
