Join FOC, the Upper Cheat River Water Trail Committee, and Blackwater Outdoors Adventures (BOA) for the 2026 Meet the Cheat event!
Participants will meet at Blackwater Outdoor Adventures (address is 60 Location Road, Parsons, WV 26287) by 10:00am for check in.
ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST REGISTER – THOSE RENTING BOATS AND THOSE BRINGING THEIR OWN BOATS.
Have some (dry) cash in your pocket! We’ll have the Blosser Boys BBQ on site serving food from 3:00pm to 7:00pm – and some great merch in the FOC booth.
Kayak and Canoe rentals are available through BOA via this link – please select 8 MILE – 10:30 AM slots. Kayak Rentals are $43.36 (includes taxes and fees) per person, and canoe and double kayak rentals are $76.71 (includes taxes and fees - minimum of two people per canoe). $10 from each rental will go to the Cheat River Water Trail. Renting your kayak from BOA automatically registers you for the event.
Have your own boats? Head to https://cheatriverwatertrail.org/events/ Registration is $10 per person - kids 12 and under are free (unless you’re renting a kayak or canoe).
*For those bringing their boats, please drop your boats at the Holly Meadows put-in (click here for GPS link) before checking in at Blackwater Outdoor Adventures at 10:00am for shuttle.
