Office Administrator
The Preston County Economic Development Authority (PCEDA) is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Office Administrator to manage office operations and provide administrative, accounting, and public communication support for economic development initiatives across Preston County.
This position will be a permanent, full-time (35–40 hours per week) position. Office hours of operation are 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Non-traditional working hours may be required. The Office Administrator is eligible for overtime.
Position Wage and Benefits:
The wage for the position will be based on education and experience. Starting salary range is $15 to $17 per hour.

Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Office Management & Administration
- Serve as receptionist and manage daily office operations
- Schedule and organize meetings and events
- Maintain PCEDA calendars, files, records, and supply inventories
- Oversee maintenance and insurance for PCEDA properties and office
- Oversee PCEDA benefit coordination
Communications & Outreach
- Prepare monthly e-newsletters, schedule social media posts and update the PCEDA website
- Maintain and distribute the Preston County Community Profile
- Assist with event coordination, trade shows, and public outreach
Accounting & Reporting
- Maintain accurate financial records and prepare vendor and payroll checks
- Complete tax filings, budget reports, and grant documentation
- Prepare financial records for annual state audit
Support to Director & Boards
- Attend and prepare minutes for PCEDA board meetings
- Coordinate correspondence and meeting announcements per Sunshine Law
- Provide support to PCEDA, Preston County Chamber of Commerce and the Preston County Farmland Protection Board
The Office Administrator is responsible for keeping accurate records of their own time. All time off or overtime must be pre-approved by the Executive Director in writing. The position will be probationary for one month, with a performance evaluation conducted after three months. All other office and personnel policies will be as outlined in the Policies & Procedures Manual.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and QuickBooks
- Experience in financial record-keeping and general office administration
- Highly organized, dependable, and capable of managing multiple responsibilities
Continued employment is contingent upon all required licenses and certifications being maintained in active status without suspension or revocation:
- Valid driver’s license
