Preston High School students Camryn Sypolt, Clayton Sypolt and Audrey Wotring received the Statesmen Award at the SkillsUSA Fall Leadership Conference.
SkillsUSA is a nonprofit organization offered through the high school’s Career and Technical Education course that helps improve a student’s prospective trade skill and provides a greater networking opportunity within the state’s industry, officials said.
CTE Welding Instructor Aubrey Jenkins said that SkillsUSA is very similar to Future Farmers of America in its functionality, though it focuses more on industry rather than agriculture.
