Property transition announced; aimed at spurring West Virginia job growth

    October 8, 2025

A new partnership involving Spirit Energy Services, the Preston County Economic Development Authority (PCEDA), Clear Mountain Bank, and Steel Valley Wastewater LLC has announced a property transition intended to create jobs and industrial growth in West Virginia.

The initiative will convert Spirit Energy’s Bruceton Mills property into a manufacturing development site and support Spirit's expansion into industrial and environmental services in Weirton.

Spirit Energy, which acquired the Bruceton Mills site in 2019 with financial backing from Clear Mountain Bank, had used it for its vacuum truck service fleet, truck maintenance, equipment lay-down, and bulk storage. The company said the site became redundant following the completion of its Beech Bottom facility and Charleston TSDF.
