AMLER Grant Offers Economic Boost in Preston County

    July 14, 2025

PCEDA is redeveloping the nearly 43-acre TAZ Sawmill site off of I-68 at Hazelton Exit 29, thanks to a nearly $4 million WVDEP AMLER grant. From an economic renewal and environmental restoration perspective, the project's potential is significant.

AMLER Grant attracts businesses to Preston County

The TAZ Sawmill site will be an attractive piece of property for manufacturers, logistics providers or other commercial enterprises looking to create a footprint in Preston County, given its size and proximity to a major interstate. Preston County’s economy will be bolstered with new resident companies due to the AMLER Grant.

Visit Preston County Economic Development Authority for information on what the future holds for the long-dormant TAZ Sawmill site.
