AMLER Grant Spurs Redevelopment in Preston County
July 7, 2025
Abandoned Mine Lands Economic Revitalization (AMLER) grants target dormant coal-impacted sites for redevelopment. Nearly $4 million was recently awarded to Preston County Economic Development Authority (PCEDA) for the former TAZ Sawmill off I-68 near Bruceton Mills, allowing the site to begin an impactful new economic chapter in Preston County.
TAZ Sawmill: Approved for WVDEP AMLER Grant redevelopment
The TAZ Sawmill property is 43 acres and features a 12,000 square-foot building. Extension of sanitary sewer and natural gas infrastructure on-site is planned. Once these AMLER Grant-driven improvements are completed, PCEDA will market the property to companies seeking a large space in north-central West Virginia.
Contact PCEDA for more information on the local impact of redeveloping the TAZ Sawmill site.
